In Leroy Merlin Greece-Cyprus we constantly focus our efforts in improving the stores image and competitiveness. Being a part of a very large Group (Adeo) i am trying to take advantage of the best practices of the group, work closely wity my colleagues in other countries and adapt these best practices locally. The challenge of getting market share from the main competitor Praktiker and the traditional channel of selling leaves no choice but trying to always being one step ahead of the competition balancing on a good product mix, competitive promos and investing ot the experiencing part the company offer. A typical day of work consists on dealing with the day to day issues and problems in the stores, following up running projects and being in contact with suppliers for product mix, promos and generally acheiving great deals that help the stores win customer loyalty.
In my years in Leroy merlin i have learned to work as a team, getting the best results without having great purchase power and adapting to the continuous changing environment if we consider that last 5 years the crisis has been building up.
My co -workers are people from various backrounds howerver i believe that we all work for the same goal thus making us a team.
The hardest part of the job being a not so big business unit is trying to handle various projects on the same time in order to achieve the best possible results in a very difficult market.
The most enjoyable part of the job is that you have the opportunity to create and shape the stores through a balanced product mix, merchandising and marketing.
long hours, too many projects some times.
