Work-life balance

When I got hired the app that i filled out to get hired that they have flexible shifts to balance between work-life but I feel like it's first come first serve shifts they should be clearly on what they tell people on there application because I feel like it miss leads people to believe that they help you between your life and work life because if your not fast enough to choose a shift you lose that shift that you want Its not fair

Amazon Warehouse: Good Job for Introverted People

I heard of horror stories, but the one in Portland, OR is the complete opposite of that; the managers & supervisors are really considerate and nice.However as a Warehouse Associate, I don't feel like a team, which is to be expected since a good number of people just keep their heads down and do their jobs. Along with the grays all over the place, it can get you feel drained and depressed.

The work is hard and repetitive but the pay is not bad. I worked as a picker for a summer and by the end, my knees and back were constantly hurting.

Repetitive work in a typical day

The job was very repetitive after doing it for a while and the new warehouse is way too big to work in. If you get assigned to work at the end of the warehouse it'll take ten minutes to walk to the break room at the end of your shift.

It’s an alright job

I worked here as an RTS Associate, although it wasn’t all that bad, the managers definitely have favorite workers who they put over everyone else which is really irritating. Also working with drivers was a hassle because they kind of used us as punching bags.

Decent place to work

Amazon is a fairly decent place to work as long as you keep your head down. Rate of pay is ok but recent changes to cost of living is forcing me to look closer to home as rate of pay is staying static till at least October. Put the work in and you’ll be fine.

Productive and fun

Worked here twice two different location made a great friends. But you are also Standing up all day but weekly pay love it. And only work 4 days out of the week

Amazon is a good place to work, however some aspects of the job can be challenging especially dealing with the many different attitude of co-workers and management.

Easy work but low pay

Didn’t really mind Amazon warehouse work. It was pretty boring, but not hard at all. Pay was pretty low for me, but for some people it was probably decent. I will say, the diversity and support of their hires was pretty impressive. All walk of life were welcomed and treated fairly.

Working remotely was the only benefit

I worked remotely, which was nice. The deadlines were a bit stressful. If I had any questions or needed help, it was hard to get in touch with upper management.Not much room for growth. Good entry level position.

It’s relatively ok

It’s an easy job, I haven’t done anything quite difficult yet. Hardest thing is having to lift 50 pound boxes all day. It might get boring since it’s a really monotonous job but they pay is ok.

Mind numbing but easy

Boring dull place to work with jumped up junior managers chasing you every two mins for targets. Very much a face fits place due to this, some people get away with anything as there friends with the junior managers. Can stand around gabbing with them for most of the shift no problems. If your not part of this group though expect to be dragged over the coals for so much as breathing at the wrong pace. Also days were you will have no work, the popular click never have this issue of course so you will spend hours just wandering around doing nothing

All the process are fair and set for success only if there wasn't favoritism.

Amazon isn't the best place to work for long term but it's a great place for your resume. Company has high standards which every company should sadly no one at amazon hold them up big disappointment.

Don’t bother

Long hours, horrible policies, heavy workload, no medical accommodations unless you’re pregnant.Your benefits aren’t really benefits, short breaks, horrible place to be. Excessive mandatory overtime

It’s literally whatever you make of it

Overall my experience working as a part time package/pallet handler/mover at Amazon distribution warehouse has been a good experience. All of management, HR, and team leaders are exactly how you’d hope leaders In their positions would be: they welcome questions, they do their best to communicate all current and ongoing issues regarding the site I where I Work so on that level, which is a pretty crucial level, it’s all good for sure. One thing I don’t like is that every shift you’re randomly assigned a different job/station. You never know which area you’re going to be in. That alone has been enough for me to begin looking for opportunities with more consistency and structure. You do you get all sorts of discounts and they do provide all sorts of opportunities to truly make of it whatever you want to in regards of a career if that’s what you want to do which is actually pretty awesome. It’s good to know there’s opportunities out there like that.

If you would like to be a robot, this is the place to work.

In a typical day, you need to clock in five minutes early, then get to work. They do not really care about their employees and on average, you will be sent home early because they don't have work except around peak season. It's voluntary to leave early but they will ask you over and over again.

Long and strenuous

Management want you to work at 110% capacity constantly and get mad if you speak to a colleague, there’s no speaking to each other and barely any toilet breaks, you’re nothing but a machine to this place.

stressful

all people cared about was if you make rate! the managers are annoying, only care about eachother, you feel like youre being watched and looked down upon. they also didnt pay me for my training. once you quit its almost impossible to contact them

There are so many people managers do not have a chance to pay attention to everyone and their performance. The pay is great and during holidays u can get as much over time as you like. With in reason.

Good management, but unsustainable

The work is not compensated financially in my opinion. Management was good, workload can be a lot at times. Overtime was mandatory during peak, but would only be paid overtime for the one hour. So you would do 4 days 11 hours in a row with overtime only being paid for that extra hour. Overtime pay was 4~ish dollars extra from base pay.
