Great company, be prepared for hard-work

This was my first job, and it is a very great company! It felt like a big family while I was there and it was a pretty friendly environment. I was the dishwasher, which was arguably not the best job for someone like me. It was too physically demanding for me and I only speak one language so it was a bit hard to communicate. It was a fast-paced environment where you constantly had something to be doing. I am not very strong and it really showed since I wasn't able to hold more than 4 of the pans at once, and I was unable to move the glasses from where they were placed to be washed. I never really saw much of the management.

The restaurant is constantly busy so there is potential to make great money and you'll never be bored.

Overall I enjoyed working here. Management could do better at times but for the most part they treat their employees like family and will do their best to listen if you go to them with an issue.

The culture is amazing.

The culture truly is amazing. There is a top down approach and the leaders really do care about the people who work here. They also value having fun.

Wasn’t here long enough to make an accurate assumption, management was helpful and down to earth, coworkers the same. Fun atmosphere. Had to leave due to other gig.

productive workplace

The workplace is fun when it comes to the social aspect. Management is iffy the higher up you go. My paycheck was cut by 400 dollars and it took them more then a month to come to a resolution, and even then they only gave me 180 but I didn’t have enough in me to fight with them anymore.

Not a good working atmosphere no appreciation for your hard work

Favortism if you weren't young and pretty you are looked down upon.I worked there 2 years and they did not care about me.The GM gave my 20 top that I started to another employee and never told me I walked out after I made sure my section was covered.

Beware of management

The management that holds the Colorado Springs location is a disgrace for what Lazy Dog stands for. The amount of toxicity and animosity created by the management has caused good employees to flee over the course of 6 months and it has only gotten worse. Unless you enjoy your hours being messed with, your general manager not speaking a word to you, or your management smiling at you yet talking about you behind closed doors… then don’t work here for the sake of your mental health.

Fun and fast pace

The staff was for the most part very friendly and nice. The hours were good and it was fast paced. The managers are also really helpful and the employee food discount was nice.

Management is mean and the work environment is toxic.

There is a very high turnover with employees due to a very toxic environment and a very mean and unfair GM. It was difficult to see employees with there heads down a tears in their eyes. 27 yrs of restaurant experience and I have never experienced anything like this.

Hit or Miss workplace with bad pay.

Employees are friendly, management is friendly and flexible. Only downside is the amount of work to be done does not correlate at all with salary. Also moments of favoritism and drama within the company that was irritating but it was not always like that. The biggest pro for me was how flexible the scheduling was. You can work any day and have any day off as long as you request at least a couple weeks prior. Exchanging shifts was always easy as well.

Completely loved working at lazy dog management and staff was very opened and supportive in all aspects. Always felt appreciated of all my efforts,

There wasn’t much to the job, which made it easy to pick up. Everyone left within like a week of me getting hired, which was annoying. Decent food, however certain coworkers weren’t the nicest.

Immature Management and toxic environment

for some perspective, I worked here a little under a year as a server and I have 5 years of server experience.The clientele is not the best here, try Rancho loc. The management is easily stressed and because of that, they play favorites hardcore. Good luck making money in any of the bigger sections against favorites. My schedule would be changed a day or two beforehand with no text or call, very annoying and happened multiple times. you'll make no money in the mornings and if you work nights prepare to stay till the 12 am closing time. sidework wasn't bad ill say that. Careful with the drama here, a lot of them don't got much else going for them so they will come off very rude and pesky over things and that's a lot of the staff. There's exceptions, however, it was more here then anywhere I've worked before. If you need a quick buck for greater goals, work elsewhere. if you dont care and want to live the weekend warrior life for no reason, these are your people.

Great job for those needing schedule flexibility

Workplace culture is good and the other staff and management are friendly. Chefs are hard to deal with, clientele is disappointing, and many problems take a long time to get resolved, like inventory. Employee turnover is pretty high, but if you need a part time job that pays decent, with flexible scheduling, and can hold up well against annoying customers, this job is for you.

Supportive management

Management is supportive compared to other places when they are not under stress. Hours depend on how busy the restaurant gets but they usually don't cut until later in the day.

Great menu and diverse clientele, dishonest and unpredictable management

A great opportunity to make good money and build some strong relationships with regular customers. But be prepared for a management team that's never on the same page and is ready and willing to take that out on employees. Often inconsistent with their own policies, it felt like the floor was constantly shifting beneath my feet. The companies core values are enticing, though it quickly became clear that at this location they were lofty at best. Managers asked employees to leave their personal lives at the door and to bring positive attitudes, a clear double standard. Management on several occasions, with employees from all departments, made empty promises about promotions that they couldn't keep.

Incredibly short staffed. Head chef is disrespectful and the other managers are clueless. You have to kiss a** to move up.not enough pay

Awful company to work for. Disrespected every day and short staffed so you’re doing the work of 3 people and only $17/hour. Didn’t see a paycheck until after a month.

Nice atmosphere

Good place to work flexible hours and good tips it gets busy at night so it is a good spot to make some decent cash. They also work with your schedule

Good managers. Extremely organized and efficient.

GM micromanaged a lot but the rest of the managers were cool and helpful. Not the best at giving time off but great work environment. High volume of customers so stress may be an everyday factor.

Poor management, could be a better place to work if management cared more about their employees and listened to complaints and issues.

Lazy Dog itself is a well run corporation, but the management at this particular location is poor. They pick favorites, are unfriendly if you are not a favorite, are stingy with their employees, and force you as a server to tip out to a nonexistent food runner some days. Ridiculous
