The setting, the industry, the geographical location, the psychology of the people served, prove my point.
What would you feel if your clientele consisted of overworked people from all over the world (but mainly Europe) that just landed to their imaginary paradise for a few days or weeks of freedom? Well, this was the routine of the job, even if you had to serve people with lost luggage. They just didn't care. They were now on holidays and everything looked (and was) good. Welcome to Crete. If you don't get a good time in Crete you can't have a good time anywhere.
Regarding the company, I liked the international and uniform quality standards of this and other airport based companies/jobs. A lot of energy, good vibes, but also of rules that give a sense of security and order.
Crazy hours are part of the fun experience. Below poverty line salaries not. Need way too much work on the later, in order to call this a decent job. Until then, rapid employee rate turnover will remain the norm.
